SHB – CheckMite
Treatment for small Hive Beetle and Varroa mite. (can only be sold in the states with EPA approval). Use 1 strip for every 5 frames of bees. Remove strips after 42-45 days. Most effective when brood rearing is lowest.
This Beetle and Mite control product, aka “The Bayer Bee Strip”, has been granted a temporary Section 18 E.P.A. Emergency Use Approval. Follow label directions exactly. This is a very powerful compound. Each state approves the use of Checkmite and application requirements. States approved for use are as follows: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NY, NC, OH, OK, OR, TX, UT, VT and WA. The following states require a pesticide license number before it can be sold: AZ, CA, CO, NC.
